    Default Rods For Spider Rigging

Looking at getting into spider rigging. Wanting to buy 8 rods for the set up. I know I’m looking at wanting to buy 14 footers but not sure on brand and if any places have 8 rod discounts. Anyone have any advice on brands or shops to buy from? Any help is appreciated. Located near Cowden.

DH .... only place I know of that has multi-rod discounts is Grizzly Jigs. And yes, in my opinion 14' rods would be the right length for Spider Rigging. As far as "brand" I can only offer my own limited opinion, plus what many of my buds use for Spider Rigging rods ... and that is BnM Capps/Coleman 14' rods, BnM BGJP 14' rods, and Jenko rods. I'm sure others will chime in with other options, like Southern Crappie rods or Mr Crappie rods, etc.

For what ever my opinion is worth, Southern Crappie rods are your best bang for the buck out there. Very sensitive, almost impossible to break, very competitive on pricing and when you buy your buying straight from owner of company. Straight up guy who is going to take care of you. And I own several different brands and fish them all at different times. But the southern is a great rod to start with and if you don’t like it in most cases you can just about always get your money back.

I have all Jenko spider trolls which are very nice, tough rods. I also was fortunate enough that Cray let me borrow his Southern Crappie rods while I was visiting Ms and they too were very nice rods as well and seemed indestructible. If I buy new ones I will be giving them a try
