    Default Gotta get out

I have to go out and try somewhere this weekend. I've never fished Shelbyville and have only fished Carlyle once. I'm debating between those two and fishing Rend, but I've only fished buck brush at Rend and I'd assume it's a shade early for that.

Which of the 3 lakes do you think fishes the easiest for a first visit using single pole? And are bait shops like Lake Zone open?

Lake Zone was open today. Fished the north end today. No bites in the buck brush, caught several on creek channel edges in 6-10 FOW.

I have fished them all a few times, being from Iowa I don't get over there much. I would bet my cards on Shelbyville right now though.

Grumpy, are you state lakes open in Iowa? Any of them that you like for crappie?

So as of April 3 is it now illegal to fish? Even by yourself?

I thin we’re good. Illinois and Missouri still allow outdoor activity while practicing social distancing. Just need ramps to stay open.

They were Monday, it seems to change every few days. I know there are no facilities available at State Parks.
