Default Need motor part in S. IL

Need a drive/sheer pin for 1993 Johnson 6 hp. Bought a creek/catfish boat and need a spare pin and seems like all the shops I looked at are closed. Anybody open or got an idea. I know I can make a makeshift one for an emergency, but would like to go ahead and buy a couple. Thanks. Its getting that time!!

I used to have an 1964 Johnson and I used a 6 penny nail for a shear pin.
A person should learn something new every day!

Yep, right size nails will get you out of a bind. Get the largest that will fit in the hole and cut to length... can keep some in the boat for a “get home fix”

My grandfather had trouble finding some once. He tried a farm implement shop and they had what he needed.

    Yes,
Did a search of my dads old boat box and found something that would work, then under up a Rural King and think they have something that would work. Was in the bulk bin isle and think they were called tension pin or something like that. Might not be perfect, but save a long paddle anyway. Thanks all for your help.

Realize that a shear pin is made to shear if you strike something, and will therefore protect further motor damage. Not sure about using a substitute except in an emergency to get to shore.
