The staff always gets paid. I don't get the logic and don't think it has anything to do with cost savings. I do believe there is more to this virus then they are telling us. Which I find equally hard to believe. The Democrats and Republicans have been pounding each other hard since Trump won. If there was an opportunity to slam the other, we would know it. When they are on the same side, it makes me wonder why?

The swamp even agreed on a stimulus package in record time without meetings. That makes me nervous.

You are correct. It doesn't have anything to do with saving money. It has to do with staffing and maintenance. I don't know what the numbers are for staffing at IDNR Sites. But, the virus can linger for hours on hard surfaces So staff are going to have to be cleaning restrooms quite frequently. I work at a state university. We have a dozen facilities we are responsible for on a daily basis. All but two have been shutdown to staff and students (who are there only because they have nowhere to go). That way we are able to focus on two buildings to keep as safe as possible for the students still there, and the few staff who can't work from home. I'm not sure the risk at boat ramps is that high, but Pritzker is apparently taking no chances. Its also a way to possibly restrict the amount of people who are traveling.

As for the government not telling us everything, well, the next time they do will be the first time. I just think they are being overly cautious because of how infectious the virus is and how dangerous it is for such a large number of our population.

Just wait for Fridays news from Trump. It won't matter what's open or closed.

I'm glad the ramps are open since the Governor just shut down all travel in the state except for essential travel
