    Default Sangchris lake crappie.

Anyone been out this week so far. What's the water temp? Are the crappie still deep?

I read on another forum the water temps last weekend were 43 degrees. No idea on fish location. The report stated fishing was extremely slow. Which doesn't surprise me, it was a nice bright sunny day.

I almost made it to the lake on Sunday. About 30 minutes out my wife called and informed me our grand-daughter was admitted to the hospital for the stomach flue and we are babysitting her brothers. She is under 2 and was dehydrated. All is well now, and she is back home. However Grandma, her daddy, and one rother were all sick Tuesday-Wednesday. Since I couldn't go fishing on Sunday, I took the boys to Presley's and BassPro shopping. We had a great time, checked out the boats, the fish tank, ate ice cream, bought some new lures, and some gear to link my sonar units.

So I just called the Sangchris Power Plant (Saturday 3-7-2020) and the control room wasn't allowed to say if the plant has been running or will be running in the future. However, the were allowed to convey the water temp which tells the story. The water temp at 10:00 am was 45 degrees. I may run out today or tomorrow just to see where fish are holding and if any can be persuaded to eat with a dead slow presentation but I have my doubts. If this plant does end of closing like Cofeen, it will change fishing as we know it in central Ill.

Yes it was for some, others not so well. It was windy. Boat control was a real challenge, especially for lighter boats. We saw water temps from 43-47. The main lake was cooler, and the back of coves was the warmest. Check out the HOI Club forum for weights.
