    Any news from Rend Lake? Any crappies biting? Water temps?

    They are still biting good, water temp 38ish

    Yes, kind of - Have fished along channel drops last 4 trips, had double limits in 1.5 hrs or less each trip, I used orange jigs about 12-13’ deep. If you want a mess, keep anything under you like or you will have your overs and be throwing them back hoping for 9.5” fish. Good luck and have fun.

    Question about Rend limits. I understand how the limit works but am more concerned if my wife and I need to keep our fish separate in case we are checked. Normally fish Crab where this is not a concern.

    that's a good question. i have wondered the same thing. we use clickers to keep track of our individual overs and unders but never separate our fish.

    Read above. Looks like the verdict flip-flopped so read all 3 pages. Bottom line=no separating crappie.

    Also after 40 plus years of fishing all southern IL lakes I have been checked once at Baldwin and once at Carlyle when I wasn't in a boat. Both times were over 15 years ago. That is pretty sad.
