    Default Visiting Chicago


    Hey guys, a Tennessee native here. My wife and I are going to make a long weekend trip to Chicago the first weekend in October. We have never been, and will be the traditional tourists you see walking with our heads up looking lost. I am wanting to see if anyone can give us info as to where not to go, what to do, and any helpful information you may have?

    I was born and raised in Chicago (North sider), but never really did much touristy stuff there. I suppose I would recommend a boat tour on the river, and maybe what ever the sears tower is called now. It'll always be the sears tower to me. It's glass ledge is cool, good view. That's about it, sorry.

    Oh, Salmon fishing out of Waukegan Harbor, but I think the charter boats will already be out of the water.

    Lots to see and do in Chicago, but it can be cold in October. If not, take a walk on State Street and Michigan Ave to see the big stores and the sights.
    Visit Navy Pier and ride the giant Ferris wheel and see the sights there too.
    If you will be there over a weekend, check on seats at a ballgame. Sox are done, Cubs maybe and Bears for sure. Dance with your wife! (nobody does that) Have fun! It is really a great town!
