    Default Kincaid Lake

I am going to try Kincaid Lake in a couple of weeks. Never fished it before. Any tips on crappie fishing there? Thanks

I'm no expert but I fish there quite often. Haven't fished in the last 3 weeks but I'd suggest finding some brush in 8-15 fow. Fish are also suspended out over open water. You can use your electronics to find both. Also try the standing timber which is in the back of many of the coves. I had equal success on jigs and minnows up until about mid June, minnows have definitely been the better of the two lately.

I'd suggest running up towards the Johnson Creek arm. There's plenty of coves with timber and shallows to fish. Best bet for a ramp is either the main marina off of 146 or Paul Ice ramp. I pasted the link to the IDNR website. I've been a couple of times this month without much luck, hopefully that will change with fall coming. Good luck and enjoy your time on the water.

I like the Paul ice ramp. It's protected from the main lake, you can idle over to standing timber, and start fishing. The entire cove is no-wake.

Both ramps are very good it all depends on where you are staying or which way you are coming to the lake. Use which ever ramp is the closest. I was out for a pleasure ride Sunday morning and there were approximately 30 fishing boats up the main lake towards Johnson creek and 3 fishing boats towards the dam so figure that out. I saw crappie fisherman on points and also over brush piles.
