Hi to all. My first post here and as noted it's about Highland Silver Lake which I fish regularly. Last week was brutal but we had a cold front move through on Monday with about 5 inches of rain that raised the lake about a foot and a half. The water temp was down to 80 from 85 last week and was slightly cloudier than normal. Today I started about 6 AM and after cycling through yellow bucktail and chartreuse plastic jigs I tried a chartreuse head- dark green tube with yellow tail jig. In 3 hours I caught 2 2 pound channel cats, about a dozen small (6-8") crappie and 6 or so bluegill. All were on the same jig either slow trolled or slow cast and retrieve. I almost always get a few small small bass and would loved to have gotten one for a 4 specie day on the same lure. Oh well.
I plan on hitting Peabody River King on Thursday and will post then.
