They are a great motor and have become very popular on the technical poling skiffs down here. Supply of the 2 stroke mercury motors that are coveted for weight to power is getting pretty slim, the new lighter Yamahas are filling in well.
I have 16 Alumacraft crappie Jon boat it came with a yahmaha 25 it was great motor but had to trade for mercury 9.9 due to horsepower restrictions on my lake. I miss the speed on 25 and was going to take the boat to Florida this summer for saltwater fishing and not tear up my lund boat as the Jon seems easier to hose down at end of day
The new 25 has a good price and a 126 pound overall weight does any one have any reviews for this motor
I’m trying to limit more holes in boat and not go to mercury they added two more when I got 9.9

Does it have to be Yamaha? Take a look at tohatsu, they're actually a Mercury (tohatsu makes the smaller mercuries). And usually cheaper, your not paying for the advertising .
Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
Is it just me that is confused by your post ?
Line 1, says you bought a boat with a Yamaha 25hp but you traded it for a 9.9.
"The new 25 has a good price and a 126 pound overall weight does any one have any reviews for this motor. ---> Did you obtain or are thinking of buying another one ?
"I’m trying to limit more holes in boat and not go to mercury, they added two more when I got 9.9" ---> You have the 9.9 mounted. Are thinking of buying a Mercury 25 HP ?
