Default Crab Orchard area water temps

I'm planning a trip in a few days to Crab Orchard and other lakes in the area, does anyone know the water temps and how the fishing is? Greatly appreciate any help.

Fished Crab Orchard on Saturday. Surface temps midlake were holding around 48 degrees in the morning but broke 50 in the early afternoon. Fish were biting, but very slowly. We were using live minnows and having less success than the others around us using jigs. It's been raining a lot lately and the lake was very muddy from the runoff. Only success we had was under both of the Route 13 bridges, fishing about 5 feet down right next to the bridge pylons.

I spoke with a guy who was getting on the lake when we were getting off. He said he had gotten skunked at Kinkaid that morning.

Thanks for the update, great report. I’m heading to the lake early Thursday morning for a few days, I’ll definitely try using jigs but will have some minnows in case. Sounds like Lake might warm up a little later this week, hope the rain takes a break.
