Hey "Bio1" did you work with the fella from Chip's Marine on that habitat
drop? What launch area did your group work? Was that part of the
Fish Habitat Alliance down there?
All,
We recently completed another Cube Drop on October 17th at Lake Shelbyville and am working on the maps of all the locations. I have been using Decimal Degrees as the coordinates system for the waypoints that are supplied with each map. I had a fisherman tell me the coordinates are not compatible with Hummingbird fish finders. I use a Lowrance HDS12 and Decima Degrees is the default coordinate system on my machine. I want to make sure I supply the coordinates in the most user friendly (meaning universal) way and am seeking input on the Coordinate System format everyone uses.
Here is a sample of what I have been supplying with the maps: Latitude 39.56814N, Longitude 088.71684W. The zero means negative.
Thanks,
Lee

Pretty sure all major GPS manufacturers have the ability to change the coordinate system in the settings somewhere, could be wrong. Would be crazy if they didnt
I don't know the difference in the systems but I have not had any problems transfering your GPS #'s to my Hummingbird PC and then to a mmc card and onto my units on the boat. I just wish I could be put on a automatic cobe drop list.
A person should learn something new every day!
Thanks for the input, fellas. I figured that was the case but didn't have access to a hummingbird. I did help Chip on this last drop. There was quite a crew out working on the drop on October 17th. We went out of Wilborn and went all the way south of the railroad bridge and everywhere in between! We sank 50 cubes and 27 stumps if I remember right.
Thanks,
Bio1
