2 years ago about this time of year I seen a buck walking in a tree row, I grunted at it and it came down the bank staring at me and even took a couple of steps into the water. Another time I seen something swimming in the middle of lake shelbyville birthday Lithia campground, come to find out it was a box turtle. Recused 2 of the that year in the same area. I had a beaver slap its tail on the water at me when I must of been to close to its den.

About 15 years ago a friend and I made a trip to Lake Tillery to go striped bass fishing. We were fishing on the discharge side of the dam in the fast water catching both stripers and blue catfish at a fairly good rate and having a great time when an Apache Helicopter appeared from out of nowhere from the other side of the dam. It appeared to be watching us as it hovered no more than 60 yards from our boat... but it was the weirdest feeling I have ever felt... wondering whether or not it might be some crazed or rogue pilot who was actually locking onto us with his machine guns or hellfire missiles. Finally, after hovering in this locked on us position for about 15 minutes it pulled up and disappeared as fast as it appeared. Those things are awesome. I wouldn't want to be pursued by one of them in a war type situation for sure.

Special K - I've been in "near proximity" to Apaches when they fired. Had a " ball or globe" on top of the rotor, one was sighting for the other. All you saw was the ball sticking above the treeline, couple hundred yards away, the other one would pop up - fire - drop back down.

I was fishing a shoreline from my boat when I heard a wheezing sound like someone choking. No one was in sight on the lake and the shoreline was all trees and brush, no houses anywhere. Kinda made my hair stand on end but I kept easing closer using my TM.
I finally spotted a Commorant that had a catfish hung in its throat. It had been this way for a while because the smell from the fish was awful, like decay.
Nothing I could do but hope the misery soon ended.

After the Beaver slapped its trail at ya, did you catch anymore fish? I never have been able to catch another fish after that has happened to me.

I understand exactly what you are saying about the spotter chopper with the globe on top of the rotor axle or hub. On this particular day at Lake Tillery... it was an Apache helicopter apparently flying alone and we saw the whole helicopter in very plain sight. We were so close that we could have seen the pilot through the front windshield except for the glare on the windshield. I'm sure we would have felt the prop wash from it... but it stayed just across the dam from us. In hindsight, I believe the pilot might have been a fisherman himself and may have just took a few minutes away from whatever his mission might have been that day... to watch us while we fished.

Seen deer swimming couple of times. My dad and I once rode right up to them and watched closely.

Sorry Guys ,haven't posted much. Early to mid 1990's ,buddy and me were fishing back in Lick creek, when we saw an animal up on shore. Looked like a coyote,it entered the water, and proceeded to swim all the way across, coming within 20 yards of boat. It was a Bobcat! We could see the tips on his ears. Continued on by boat,to far shore, got out, shook off water ,and on his merry way like it was routine. Another true story in same decade was a pair of swans again back in Lick creek, female was nesting on bank, the male harassed every boat that entered towards the back , he came up to my boat, put his big long neck inside boat and had his beak around one of my poles! Then flew up 2-3 feet off water honked and flapped his wings pretty intimidating! This went on for a period of time
