    Default Shelbyville

I am looking to start fishing lake shelbyville. I was wondering if there were any spots to bank fish for crappie. If not, I have a small Jon boat that I could take out, but the wind blows me around like crazy in that 12 ft Jon. Would there be any spots out of the wind where I could take it out and get on some crappie? Not looking to steal anyone's hot spots, just wondering if anyone could help me out since the lake is new to me.
    Thanks guys!

Looks like no ones giving you much info so I’ll do my best lol. Bo woods cove is a popular bank spot off of the rocks. If you have a smaller boat you could launch into the okaw river and try to stay out of the wind, you can usually catch them shallow on stumps this time of year.

Right now anywhere you can access the lake that has a few stumps or laydowns is a good spot to try. Depending on cold fronts and sunshine will determine if the fish are there or not.

Bo woods has bank fishing, there are a bunch of cubes sunk in the mouth of the cove towards the no wake bouys and some closer to the bank between the bank and the no wake bouys. Also the rocks around the wilborn boat ramp can be productive. Coal shaft bridge has bank fishing too.

That's some excellent advice you have given and it's nice to see a guide being so helpful with accurate information. I hope everyone appreciates your help and uses your service. The Shelbyville lake area is lucky to have a couple of guides who not only provide a good fishing experience but are willing to share for those unfamiliar with the lake.
