I caught my first white bass while at Evergreen this summer. I like it! Where do you find them in the fall? Deeper water?

Come on over to Shelbyville. You can catch them like crazy on wind blow flats or banks as well as rocks. Two jig rig cast and retrieve. They’re actually biting very well currently and will stay good through October.

I love to catch them as well. Our population in SC has all but vanished, most blame the white perch. We used a tandem rig with a bucktail and a ice fly( a very lightweight spoon looking lure) it is a willow leaf spinner bait blade with a single hook soldered with a little tail feathers on the end. Down here it would catch the white bass. Almost all singles would be off of the ice fly. Doubles were common. I'd troll them as well

I’m a white bass addict as well. I spend a lot of time chasing salmon up on the big lake, but white bass fishing is probably one of my favorite things. I did it a lot as a kid, maybe that’s why it’s so fun to me. Regardless, it’s tough to beat a good white bass day!

I just relocated to Lake Shelbyville after a move with the military. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks as I begin to learn this lake. Bought a new Helix 9 and have been playing around trying to use it to its potential, which I am not! I’ve been concentrating on everything east of Coal Shaft so far (living in Sullivan).

The fishing has been great, but I’ve yet to get on top of a school of BIG whites. I’ve found two ledges that are stacked with 8-10 inch fish that are fun with the kids, but the big fish are still eluding me.

It amazes me that more guys don’t chase them more seriously outside of the crazy summer busts.

White Bass, along with Crappie, were the first fish I ever went fishing for. More recently the Hybrid Striped Bass has been added to the lakes I fish, and they're quite fun to catch as well.

Most any jig, blade bait, inline spinner, and even small cranks will produce when casting, trolling, Pushing, etc. (and of course minners work pretty good too, day or night)

When they're in "the jumps" .... Silver Buddy - Hopkins Spoon - small topwater cranks with spinners - Road Runner - or "plunker/fly" will get you some, as long as you can get the baits in range of the jumps. And when the jumps subside, trolling through the area with a deep diving crank with a jig on a leader behind it can sometimes add a few more to the livewell.
