Wish I had some info for you. I have only fished the lakes a couple times. Would think someone would chime in.

You may want to check with Nick Shafer (Crappie Predator Guide Service) @ (618)472-4763 for some
up to date info. And if you haven't been down there in awhile, maybe book a 4 hr trip with Nick or
Uncle Bob! You won't go wrong with either. If you do go with them, don't count on sittin' on your duff,
cuz it ain't gonna happen. You will be moving a lot. Call and see what Nick recommends.

Never been to Carlye and have been targeting crappie for only a few years. I found rend is good in the cold months. And shebyvile is good in the warm months. I’m north of both though. When it’s real cold I go to clinton

I went to rend a few years back in early October. It was warm kind of weather where your wear shorts day and night. Did well single poke jigging the whole week over brush no bugs either it was a good trip
