    Default Finally some good weather!

Had a little fun on Sangchris yesterday. Spent a large part of the day trying to get used to my new Motorguide XI5 but managed to put a limit in the boat too.

Curious of what other XI5 owners think about this motor. I see pros and cons for sure already.

Had 3 around 14 inches. Yeah boy!

Nice fish. I really like my XI 5 spot lock is great, I troll for walleye with mine, I have not used the foot pedal just the hand remote so far. The 3 blade Machete prop is a lot quieter and a little faster than the 2 blade. Only con to mine was the 11/2 inch drop on the front (which I think they did away with on the new ones) I have the set back position quick release plate for mine so I had to install 1 1/2 inch aluminum square tubing between plate and motor to allow for use of the setback plate. don't need the setback for load or unloading but I set it back at end of day before docking for the night so motor doesn't hit wall at resort we stay at in WI. I have a Hook 7 on front hooked to the TM transducer works great I don't have it networked with console HDS unit but could if I want to.

It was still low but the fish didn't seem to care. Water Temp around the Strakus Landing was right at 49 degrees. Surprisingly, the water was fairly clear considering all of the rain as of late. I would say 2.5 -3' visibility.
