the walleye fishing is better at Shelbyville.
Went to Clinton Sunday morning to spend the day fishing for walleye in the gravel pit area. Ended up catching alot of keeper crappie. They were in 9 to 13 fow on the side of the gravel pit. Caught most on a jig and leech. Not one walleye though. If anyone has any info on walleye fishing at Clinton, I would love to hear it.

Hi all!
I have never been to Clinton, but am going night fishing this weekend. Can you please give me a general area of the gravel pits? I haven't been able to find them on a map. Yet.
Or maybe in addition, a few general pointers on where to target this time of year.
Thanks!
Gravel pit area is about 1/2 mile west of the marina and about 1/4 mile off of north bank. Go to Old Joes in Dewitt and he will help you, he also has leeches but you have to ask for them. You can also put in at the Mascoutin ramp where there is a bait shop and they will show you. Not sure what kind of bait or what their hours are. Gavel pit drops down t 30+ fow. Are you fishing for Walleye or Crappie? Let me know how you do. I have never night fished Clinton before.
