    Default Clinton lake 1st timer

Been wanting to make the 2 1/2 hour trip for a while. Ice is bad here now,Illinois river has once again gone ballistic.(usually fish it during winter) Mississippi back waters still hard but not safe. So were going to go to Clinton this Thursday.Been reading and studying posts maps ect. I think I may have some spots picked out that may produce. ANY suggestions would be great. Also anyone who is interested in fishing the ILL RIVER that needs help or places to go can get ahold of me,I've fished it for about 20 years. <img src="http://www.crappie.com/crappie/images/smilies/E-1.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Fish'in" smilieid="29" class="inlineimg">

I will assume you have a map so as you pull into houseboat cove work the shore to your right especially the downed trees, check out submerged tree on the right as you work your way into Y cove, if the wind isn't to bad work the downed trees along the shore south of the entrance to Y cove, work the trees and brush in the route 10 cove and try the downed trees in Junkyard. These spots have worked well for us will do more exploring next time we come down water will be warmer north of the Marina. Good luck
