Default Stump fields in Rend Lake?

Question: Do the stump fields north of 154 on Rend Lake produce this time of year? Or any time of the year for that matter?

We've fished the stumps north west of the resort twice without much luck, there are a lot of stumps below water line, and there's no getting out of any kind of wind. We found fish (mostly black crappie) in the fall between the sub-impoundment dam and the railroad causeway at the Nason public use area south of Waltonville but it's shallow and boat control in the stumps can be an issue in any kind of wind.

The risk is not worth the reward. You will tear up ur rig and trolling motor because the water level is too high now and you can't see the most of the stumps as they are under water.

Most of the stumps north are in the refuge. The refuge is closed from oct 15 thru march 1
