There is a time and place for rigging. After the spawn and during summer months in Illinois, I think spider rigging is the ticket.
Anyone in Illinois spider rig? If so, any tips? I've done some research, just never saw anything bout it on Illinois thread. Didn't know if its a "sign", and I shouldn't try it. We are allowed three poles.
Thanks, Gary

The best tip and biggest mistake is GO SLOW! If you think you are going slow, slow down some more! It is alot of fun when you get into a school:-)
I try it sat. at rend lake 30min. along rocks had 3 crappie 2 smallones 1 nice one it work but we kill them in5ft. fishing 2ft. bever hut so we went back to one pole.U can fish 2 poles with 2 hooks per person.
when you get in to a school its a lot fun and the best time is what Ihumphre said but wright now i jig.
If you think Spider Riggin is fun ,you should try Pullin Cranks

How is that crank bait pulling it seem to be hard to get the speed wright and depth wright. When do you do it in the summer and what was the first thing you would do so a new comer dont make the same mistake.
I start right after the Spawn, And you cant really make no mistakes. Just get enough line seperation. 3 to 4 ft.

Thanks i will keep that in mind after next spawn
Lots of riggers here, just not a lot of talk about it. Pre spawn and post spawn into summer are the hottest times. Depends on lake, and how tight to wood they are and how lazy they they want to be.
