cold front and tonite will be cooler than last nite,,did your water temp drop? Ours dropped all the way down to 75-76 on Monroe this morning.
Yesterday I had real good luck with white bass on the surface at Shelbyville, so today (Friday) I took the wife so she could see the surface frenzy and have some fun catching fish. We were there from 8:00 until 2:00; you guessed it; I couldn't find them on the top where I found them yesterday, so we motored around and didn't find them anywhere. Anybody else find the same or did I just look in the wrong places?

Found them yesterday Over by Whitley creek boat ramp. They was a busting also found some Large mouth on buzz baits
If only those little shad would stay in one place while those huge schools of whites were trying to eat everyone of them, then it would be easy. Those whites don't have a clue where they are going, except to follow their food, where ever that might be.
Last week I could do no wrong when it came to busting whites must of caught a thousand. This week the schools are getting more spread out and not up as long and yes the cold front has had a big effect on them. Not to mention a week of twenty plus wind. Today I switched over to pulling spinners on south end after chasing busting whites for three hours. I can still get whites but walleye as well. We had nine today with six big enough and many largemouth in the three to five pound range. Seams they like nightcrawlers who knew. I saw a guy weigh a really big fish that had the head of an eight to nine pound fish and a skinny body and it weighed 6.92
Oh yeah today we got busting whites on the surface in sixty feet of water. They are busting on south end too.
Steve - We were out today from 11 AM until 8 PM and could not find one school of whites feeding on the surface. We did take 5 walleye with two keepers and one white bass. We caught a 15 inch largemouth and I took a 4 lb 1 oz largemouth on one of your candy stripers. I got it jigging the striper in 18 feet of water. We lost a real good walleye right at the boat.

We came down Tuesday and Wednesday and struggled big time... 60 Whites Tuesday and 25 or so on Wed.
They were spread out big time... Fished the same areas that Steve was in Tues. morning, and fished alongside him on Wed. until 9 or so... The wind was a big factor for us...
Most of the fish we caught on Tuesday were cruising just below the surface in 25-40 feet of water. Scattered busts everywhere, but pinpointing them was a chore.
We never found them stacked up and suspended anywhere... Still had a blast...
I'll be back next week, hopefully we'll have better weather.
Man your a tough old coot--It I,d stayed in a boat that long I,d still be there until someone brought a cherry picker to lift me out--RoflRofl

Ken what whites I have seen since the cold front busting have been on the south end and not for long so that is why I have went back to looking for walleye. Did get quite a few whites yesterday on jigging spoons though and will be doing more of that this week. Not guiding today I have my wifes family reunion to go to and her mother requested my appearance. Better go, she makes me my applesauce and home made noodles and of course very good cookies. Don't want to get on Marions bad side. Back guiding tomorrow I counted up the trips thus far and Monday will be my 100th guide trip this year so business is good. Hope my July fills as I still have half the month open.
