Sorry the bait is made by Strike King not Lucky Strike. Don't want you throwing cigarettes at them. Sorry early morning and late night. You will get that. Most of you know someone who is just getting their feet wet in fishing. I know this is a crappie forum but anybody would love what is going on at Shelbyville now. The shad are so small about the size of a piece of thread. That the whites just can't get their fill and they stay up on surface for very long periods. I have put my boat smack dab in the middle of five acres of busting whites every day this past week.
It seams to start about an hour after sun rise and last until noon or somedays even later. The weekend traffic really put them back down but I still caught them right in boat traffic by fishing a bait made by Lucky Strike called the Sand Blaster. It is similar to a Little George. I just cast it out where the whites were busting and then let it fall to bottom. Then I just pop it off bottom about five feet then let it fall back. The whites are all over it.
I have caught walleye with the whites all week and even though my numbers are down I am still getting three or four legal fish a day. As far as the whites go I can tell you I have already went through an electric knife in less than a week. We have probably caught a couple thousand this past week.
Like everything else this year at Shelbyville the fish are nice size. I am seeing some close to a couple of pounds but most nice eating size. Pound or slightly better. Bigger fish are under the busting fish and bigger fish are in the middle of the lake not on the shoreline. They are busting everywhere so just find a school that has larger fish in it.
