Years ago I invested in a LX5. It is an awesome machine. When I upgraded my fish finder on my kayak to a Hb Helix5, I got the ice bundle for that so I can use one machine for both hard and soft water. A bonus is being able to store waypoints and contour maps of the lakes Im fishing. It makes for a more enjoyable outing. My lx5 is used by my friends now.

This is obviously an old thread, but I’d be interested to know what sort of electronics everyone is dragging out on the ice these days? Still using a mechanical flasher? LCD flasher? One of the Livescope type things?

I have a Helix 7 with an ice 'ducer for hole hopping. Use it in graph mode, not circular flasher. I also have a Mega 360 that hooks up to my open water Helix 9 for searching. May sell the 360 and grab one of the Mega live units on a blowout sale that is compatible with the Helix line as the new Mega Live 2 is not compatible.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
