    Default A replay of yesterday

Almost an exact copy of my trip yesterday. Got on the ice about the same time, the bite came on about the same time and I was about 150' away from where I ended up yesterday!
Here are the 1st 3 fish up the hole today, 2 small crappie and a 10" or so perch.

Few minutes later got a nicer crappie, maybe 11 or so:

Hole hopped a bit and got the best bite on the last hole of the day. Again, as fast as I could get one off and get back down, the next fish was already rising for it. Same lure as yesterday, a multi-colored tungsten jig head with a white tail from one of my chewed up Southern Pro Stingers.

I left them biting at 11:40; ended up with a total of 28 today, with I think 4 crappie. Wish I could get on a hot crappie bite like I've been on the hot perch bite.

Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Nice catch, I'll take a hot perch bite any day. We just got safe ice ( what I call safe ice ) in my area of pa. I hope to make my first trip out this week.

Another good catch. I find that on a certain body of water that I fish the yellow perch will be thick as flies like that and hanging out near the bottom. I could fill my truck bed with them. If I fish the middle of the water column however the crappie will be hanging out there. The cone on my flasher is a lot narrower at that depth so I don’t usually see the Crappie until right before they are about to bite my jig.
