    Default Home made Jaw Jacker

I spent a little time in the shop today making my version of the Jaw Jacker set up for ice fishing. One thing I'm going to do now that I've thought a while about it, is to paint this a color that will not blend in with the snow.
This is super easy to build and you might have $10.00 into it.

    Thanks for watching

Good job. What length rod are you using with the eight inch insert? And are you glueing it together?

    The rod is 26”

I haven’t decided to glue it up yet, or try it out first to see if anything should be changed. I haven’t had any ice to try it out on yet.

Great idea Steve. I'm not an ice fisherman nor do I expect to become one but in perusing your "Jaw Jacker" prototype: Why wouldn't you cap it and glue it up and perhaps fill it with water and antifreeze solution to give it more weight and stability? I haven't had a chance to look at your video yet... perhaps you have already thought of this... but, I'm just shootin' from the hip and offering some feedback for you to consider while you are in the research and development phase.

Hey Steve- The "snap" of that "outside the box" J/J definitely promotes the concept of "building a better -mouse trap-"! On that note...what's the chance of engineering a spider-rigging J/J ?!! Yes, I know what you're thinkin' = 10' - 18' rods

Capping it doesn't work in my case as it has to be open to accept the rod
However I would think a sandbag laying over it would be easy enough.
