    Default Ice, Ice Baby

It’s coming, so let’s get ready for it!

Bought a replacement battery last week cause it’s not fun when your battery dies and you gotta go old school!

Got both batteries charged and ready to go.
Time to get the flip over shanty down and check it out, rods and jigs ready and the heater bottles filled. I bought a tip up also

Who else is getting ready for ice fishing?

It's been probably 20 years since I last went but I'm getting the itch this year. Gave away all my stuff years ago. Wish I'd kept the auger but have arranged for a loaner hand auger. All jigging, no tip ups in the plan. Perch, crappie and 'gills will be my targets. Ordered a couple of UL jigging rods and inline reels and am getting ready.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

I have made it out once already. My closest bodies of water that hold Crappie aren't froze up yet but some smaller places closer to home are that have White Perch. I went out last Saturday and jigged up a few. Hoping to try again this weekend.

I agree with not wanting to try it old school. If I forgot my flasher at home I would have to turn around and go get it. It would be like walking around with a blind fold on all day.

Nice video, it amazes me that you never get tongue tied!
Side note, we don’t have a tip up isle in the OKC Cabelas! LOL

Never had an opportunity to ice fish. But I spent a week, the last of May, some years ago in the U P fishing the Little Bay De Noc for walleyes and the locals talked of how good the winter fishing was where we had the cabin. Good luck.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

You're talking my backyard now! I grew up in the UP, Little and Big Bay de Noc! My house was a stones throw from Garden Bay which is part of Big Bay de Noc! You must have been either in Rapid River or Kipling in a cabin?

I've always wanted to ice fish one time, but this ole MS boy prolly don't have enough clothes! Good video Steve, but I really don't understand the gadgets!
