Thread: Rainy afternoon hog

trying to scare hogs out of my good deer area. Went back to my easy to walk to stand this afternoon. I parked about 400 yards away and was putting on my rubber boots.. and a good sized hog walks out about 80 yards in front of truck. I got one boot on and still have one work boot on.. got to my rifle and only had a hard quartering shot, so I passed on it. Got to the ladderstand and it starts lightly raining.. almost 2 hours of that and it quits. Last 10 minutes I am seeing at least 2 hogs on my walking path..they hung up and would not come closer. I like to head shoot at 20 yards but can off hand ok up to 70 yards. So that what I did at 45 yards. Blew heart up and got some lungs too. Messed up some of the opposite shoulder meat when that 150 grain copper bullet went thru. She dropped right there in my mowed path..no dragging. I hope the hogs move on for a few days so I can deer hunt this weekend.
