Chica. Assisted by my Ruger .380 LCP. 10foot up a tree after the groundhog realized it was losing the fight. She carried up to my brother's house for pictures.

Chica is a Jack Russell/ Chihuahua mix. She has killed squirrels this summer that were trespassing in the chicken pen.

I had never seen one climb a tree before. I thought it was a porcupine as I was showing up. My brother even gave me kudos on my shooting.

used to get into fights with them there woodchucks and my cross breed strawberry colored doggy as a kid . that doggy was totally viscous for a small dog , he went to doggy jail several times , loved to bite men that got to close to the family , was just a flat out sweet looking lovable dog till it became time to be a big dog ....
them there woodchucks can be a seriously mean when cornered and me with a stick and my doggy took out our fair share , smaller versions got the cranial crush from the dog and the large mammer jammers got the team thing , me beating them with a stick while he chewed on them .....
here tell they taste good , did ya eat it ?
might have seen one treed before is me as well ......

I've shot a couple of them out of trees while squirrel hunting when I was much younger.
They are real good swimmers too!

I've trapped them, shot them with bow, rifle, pistol and chased one down and took him out with a branch from the ground. First one in a tree, but I'm a believer now!

one we "treed" held itself up in the tree with them big ole woodchuck teeth , not kidding either ....
it amazed me that it could climb a tree in the first place and the way it held on to said tree was simply golden ...
