Default An in the face reminder of ....

Just how totally stupid a big gobbler is during the spring fling , heard him gobble from the other side of the lake on the back side of the mountain . A few hen barks and he immediately responded with a big deep far away gobble .
Left him be and heard another gobble closer to us near the peak of the moutain about 15 minutes later , told H hear he comes . Went on about business pond hopping and came around the back side of the big lake and as we got closer to the beehives THERE was mister loving to strut puppy all blown up and looking for love or a fight ! Truly expected him to fold up and run off , but he looked us over and STOOD his ground , let us drive slowly right up to him!
Now mind you this , Took lots of pictures but few were of any decent quality , he lets us DRIVE right up to about 10 yards and EVEN gobbled at me when I hen barked while he was in bb gun range .....ding dong .....
might go whack one is my american native name , H never been spring turkey chasing before and my friends place is ripe for it ....
might secure permission to play with them is me
    KABOOM might be near ....

could have leaned out the window and totally smoked him for sure , no need for camo and bug spray or fancy anything
never mind the snake leggings and face netting and gloves , just lean out the window pretty far so the sound dont kill your ears inside the truck cab ,,,,,been there done that before ........

That would get you in some bad trouble in these parts although it would save a lot of work as you mentioned

Worked with a fella that built himself a hunting stand the attached to his truck. He would drive out into the woods. Winch the stand into position, climb up into and hunt. Looked like a large tripod attached to his truck. Mister Green Jeans wrote him a real nice ticket in the great state of Alabama. Was working in Coastal North Carolina. All the trucks in town had ladder racks on them with a boat seat mounted up there. They had little turn offs into the swamps. Low grassy Coastal swamps with very few trees. They would turn the trucks into the turn offs, climb up into the seat and hunt

I was rewiring Coast Guard base that had melted down it's switch gear in an ice storm. On the weekends on the way to the base you could see them all sitting up on those seats down both sides of the road. Never seen anything like it before or since

In south Texas lots of the big ranches have trucks with towers on them and some with multiple seats, pretty popular to hunt that brushy stuff that way down in the land of the muy grande bucks
