Default leupold scope warning (BUYER BEWARE )

Bought a new Leupold VX-3i 4.5 x14x50mm. Google Leupold scope warning or leupold fake scope and it will list ways to tell if you bought s nock off . May have lost 550.00 plus lawyer fees . If you are going to buy a leupold you can call 1-800-leupold to check serial number before purchasing . Wish I had known . Box and packaging is identical to the real thing .

I remember when the Dollar stores were selling Crest toothpaste. Only it was an exact match except for serial numers and the makeup of the paste itself. Made people sick. That was almost fifteen years ago and our rulers couldn’t have cared less. Hope you get your money back.
Maybe they will bite this one……

The means and methods are numerous and there doesn't seem to be an end to it these days.
Some of the giveaway things on fake book are ridiculously full of traps .
Beware of everything and everyone and if it seems to be to good to be true .....
Well there you have it ....
Sorry for your scope issue sir , hard to believe how bad it is these days.

I have many leupold scopes but had not bought one since 1990 so The minor changes were not alarming . Actually the badge on the fake is like the old ones . The new ones are laser engraved . I was told the fakes were made in an old Nikon plant . weather they were or not they are a pretty good scope (just not a 500.00 scope ) I found the information by searching internet to see how to set scope since they have left the 1/4 click at 100 . It was only when I found the warning by accident that I found the fake information . Just understand that you will be looking at a scope that looks / feels legit .Was told there are thousands in the U.S.A. to me the white writing on the gold ring is a dead give away as well as a trade mark on the left of the serial number instead of the right . Beware !

Was able to get my money back and even a box of shells for the 6-8 that I had shot . Shop was grateful for my attitude during the whole process . I did not tell him how this would have went down if he had not gave my money back . lol
