I am going to pick up a larger trap. Had a possum caught in the trap. Something worked the trap over trying to get to the possum. I was thinking coyote or bobcat. Had two bucks out yesterday just strolling around the back while I was out. A 6 in velvet and a cowhorn spike. They have zero fear this time of year

When you get your trail cams set them to shoot short video clips, you'll be surprised at all the different critters roaming around.

I would rather build a better coop than handle angry skunks. Coons are tricky and bite real good. Possum….well let’s just say you have to be tough to be a possum.

One night yers ago I awoke to my cat squalling and fighting on my Florida Room porch. where his food bowl was. I sauntered out naked, and turned on the lights, and there he was. Big possum. He had shoved the dryer air vent inwards and crawled through the hole. So I opened the door and shot him with one pump on the air rifle. He just hissed at me. So he got two pumps, then three, and he was just getting bolder and I didn’t want to actually injure the dumb thing. So I got the broom and took a big swing and cleaned him off this shelf thingie and onto the floor. That was when he attacked me. He was trying to nibble my toes and I was pushing at him with the broom and backing up and screaming like a little girl. Finally I got back inside and shut the door and told the cat he was gonna have to make friends because I was out of there. My cat never really saw me in the same light again after that evening.

Why I have seen possum exit out from rotting cattle that stunk so horribly it was difficult to even breathe. Right out the poop shoot he popped out. Covered in slimy goo and snapping his jaws at me. I tell you possums are tough. Not something to be massed with if you can avoid it.

My buddy shot one with an arrow and it survived and continued on as if the world was his oyster. I used to surf fish and would hang my bait rigs from the rafters on my porch. One morning I came out to go to work and there he was. He had a hook in each foot and was spread eagle between the rigs. Just hanging there in midair. He looked at me as if to say help me. All I could do for the boy was end it all for him. No way I was gonna try to back the hooks out. Poor devil, but the end was easy for him.

Yeah I think I would redesign my chicken coop so as to avoid having issues with these formidable creatures.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Hard to prevent an animal that is determined to find it's way inside. The coop has been secure for 5 years now. The skunks have learned to dig now. Eliminating the skunks help 2 fold. I sure don't want the wife of the dogs sprayed when she takes them out. The young little stinkers will spray at the drop of the hat. I have smell skunk in the heavy morning air for the past 3 days. It is time for them to go

The Dane we had grabbed a skunk and got sprayed in the mouth. A little dawn dish soap, baking soda, and peroxide fixed her right up. Me not so much from washing her. I smelled a little skunky for a few days
