Thread: one looks pretty decent so far

for this year and the extreme drought we are going thru, have a bachelor herd of 5 or 6 and 2 maybe look so so , gunna be a tough year to find a big rack it seems ....
sure wish the rains would come on , it is dry as an old dog bone out there , no pecans , no acorns, no blackberries ,just snakes and grasshoppers in abundance .....
and did I mention ....HEAT ! been darn hot for sure as well ......

tough call as all pics are of bucks that need a couple years to be worth taking. Rather pick off the ugly younger bucks you don't want breeding and they taste dandy on top of that.

that deer is about as old as they get in my part of the world near our place , just saying , once they get a bit heavy bodied and wide they are done out in the open country in those parts for sure ,someone will for sure hammer him as soon as hunting season begins out there .
of course that someone might be me , but as you might have guessed I want to eat him , horns are just a plus ....
my 10 year old girl saw him and said dad ...."he looks yummy" !
