Shoot it with enough tracers and it would be cooked. Had an old hunter tell me years ago. That he shot them so far away he had to use salt bullets so the meat wouldn't spoil while he walked to it

Rear bag,and a back pack with a blanket stuffed in it a pretty much stock Remington 700 varmint 1-12 twist with a trigger tech trigger set at 2lbs.
The trigger was a great upgrade...Remington's x-mark triggers are like opening a sticky paddle lock

Had a Remington 700 with a trigger job, made a huge difference. Set at 2.5#, which was the club minimum. Sounds like you have a great set up.

Back when they were the most accurate rifle “ out of the box “ you could buy .
I got a cheap one and put a Nikon on it and went to the range and in less than a box of shells
It grouped quarter size at 100 with straight ole core lock 150 Remington ammo
And would ring the 10 inch gong well at 200 ....

Back in the days when they built quality. I remember when they discontinued their Sendero line of Target/ Varmint guns. Those where definitely some shooters

Back when they were accurate rifles out of the box??? It's a $525.00 2018 with a cheesy plastic stock and a $155.00 after market trigger. I must have got one built on a Wednesday, after they put fresh barrel reamers in

mine ran about 325 when I got it the adl version , el cheapo plastic stock and got it in around 2000 .scope .sling, rings and front sight removed totaled around 600.
it would shoot as well as some of the legendary shooters that cost 3 times that amount back when .
my bud laughed real hard one day about some fella with a several thousand dollar rifle boasting it was the most accurate rifle in the world at the time .......
my bud was a serious long ranger and built most of his rifles and he whispered over at me about the other fella ......
"dont know about the most accurate part , but it for sure is the most expensive rifle in the world" !

I have a 280 from Remmington's custom shop from the early 80s that I paid $800 for. I was shooting with a friend that had a couple of Shaw custom 280s. I said I may want Shaw to build me one. He asked why? Mine would out shoot his for a 1/4 the money. I shot a 2" group at 300 yards.

Some rifles are just great shooters. Tack drivers out of the box. Others you just can't getbthem to hold a good group no matter what you do
