It's illegal to feed here, but I can't stop them from visiting the birdfeeder. All I feed is sunflower seed and suet so I'm not trying to entice them. Hoping that the huge bear from last year doesn't show up though!

we run 4 full time , in this part of the world if you dont , you will likely only see them from afar ....
and in the end , lots of free groceries attracts lots of wildlife .
about 400 lbs of corn a month and then the added other items .
we also feed 14% cattle cube in some spots weekly and mineral blocks and a few game blocks too .
plus if I keep them at our place longer ,they are less likely to go home to other folks freezers ....:Rofl
They love the free food.
True enough. They also like to expend the least anount of energy for the most calories gained
7-8 in our yard nightly. Yesterday on the way to a doctors appointment I saw two mature bucks with 3 does. The still had full racks! Beautiful sight against the frosty broom sage.
I'm seeing upwards of 300 on the road lately. No horns. Saw a one sided rack about 3 weeks ago. Neat to see horns this time of year for sure.
bud sent me a photo of 2 with racks just last night , the smaller racks seem to be the ones that hang on a bit longer .
