I have to have a furharvester license to take one, then you have to call a game warden after the kill to get a tag for it. I need to renew my furharvester license as I plan on doing some calling. I have them on camera pretty regularly.Name: IMG_0140.jpg

some states regulate fur bearing animals pretty tightly , here if you want to sell it you have to have that permit as well .
but here we allow just plain ole hunters to whack whatever we want in the predator platform whenever we feel the need to do so .
not many places in the US where one can take a mountain lion without a mile of red tape and etc .
dont think any fur bearer other than jaguars and maybe otters are under the cant take them clause .

I am pretty sure shooting one here would get you in some trouble.

Most Texas hunters can only wish to ever see a lion , cats are particularly sneaky critters

Last sunday I went down behind the house and flipped the ecaller on to try and call in a cat. Never saw one. Checked trail cams yesterday and I had a bobcat running to the call that went right by the camera. I shouldve been able to see him but never did.

They come in facing the wind, with eyes open. Especially where they have been called before. Smart little hunters they are

They are fun to hunt, but if you are in tight quarters, they can be on you and you'll never know it. First one I ever called in I shot at 10 steps. He was crawling through some broom straw and never made a sound.

A good buddy of mine had a daddy that quit deer hunting because they were just to heavy to drag in the swamps in Louisiana.
He took up turkey hunting, he had a monster bobcat sneak in on him thinking he was a turkey.
That bobcat was just flat out huge ,he held it up as high as he could and the front feet were still on the ground ....
50 something lbs is what he told me it weighed

Sneaky critters they are. Heard a ruckus outside one night years ago. While out looking to see what was going on. I heard something come out of the tree and hit the ground. Biggest Bobcat I have ever seen landed and stared at me. I don't know what put it up that tree and I didn stick around to find out. It was certainly unconcerned that I was there with a flashlight
