Thread: 3 first elk

With the help of a good neighbor I set up an elk hunt for some guys who had never taken an elk. My nephew, brother-in-law who is a 30 year Navy vet and a fishing client that is a Viet Nam vet that has become a good friend. I came along to assist in any way I could. The first day we got into elk but no tags filled. The next day it wasn't looking too good until the last spot we checked. We put a plan together and I got the guys set up while my neighbor moved on the elk. The plan worked great and when the elk filtered out the guys shot well and had 3 down in 3 minutes. We all went to work on them and got them broke down and in my walk-in shortly after dark. They all went home happy with elk for their freezers.
