    Default Torn is me

Pretty sure if someone else sees him ,it is over , he is there every day at our place ,morning and evening .
my inner greed says do it ketchn , my heart says wouldn't it be nice if he bred all the does .
and he would sure be a lovely thing next year , but it is pretty much a given with that set of horns he is done if he wanders .
he will likely wander even though he is a home boy and he isn't the brightest of candles , he often wanders in the open field on the way to my feed locations .....
what say yawl , I think he is 4 .....
looked way big in velvet , looks nice in hard horn ,but not near as huge .....
seems to be getting smaller everytime I see him .....
and no we don't need any venison either ....
trying to find an excuse to air him out this Saturday is me .....
oh the conflict in my little pea sized brain ......

agree someone would take him but I wouldn't just like you. you know he is year or even two before he bcomes a trophy. but such is life unless your neighbors all feel like you and let them grow. I personally shoot does or ugly bucks with little potential for meat.

I'm not going to shoot an animal just because my neighbor probably will. If I don't need the venison he walks. Don't matter how big he is or might be in the future. Unless the neighbor is a d..k.

I have the same issues on the land I hunt. I always tell myself that I know he wont make it to next year if I shoot him... it sucks, but it is what it is...

So ya don’t need the venison methinks you answered your own question. I know you will make good use of the meat through donation or self consumption either way. It’s always a chance if you let one walk. I have killed so many bucks my mantra is if it isn’t bigger than what’s on my wall then it walks. I shoot does for meat if needed. What I don’t consume I donate to hunters for the hungry. Hard choice though, he is a beauty...

It’s the condition of the hunter’s heart. If you are happy in your heart with any deer at the curl of the trigger, harvest him. If there is greed or covetness in your heart, you will not be happy with any deer harvested. Follow your heart buddy. The joy of photography is you can set a goal to capture an excellent picture of him and he still lives for the next year. My problems are now I’m having to see which I pick up first, the Nikon or the firearm. But the Nikon wins on the bucks. My meat comes from the does. However if a monster steps out.

And video tape the commotion. I am thinking after tangling with that critter you may never want to see another deer again.

You gotta get that on film! Cuttin them antlers off!!
    It’s gonna be real!
I’d let him pass, he will be even better next year.
Of course I have passed on several, then seen them whacked a few days later.
No biggie, my choice. All I can control is me.
