That will certainly do it
I used my dubbing coffee grinder to mix cattail fluff and shredded Mylar. Works great, easy to see.

I use to use plain cattail fluff but in low light conditions it can be hard to see. The Mylar sure helps that.
interesting mix , our winds are most of the time high enough it is easy to tell what way it is going here .
the places I hunt often have the "wrong" wind and in those situations I typically don't even go .
once alerted to the human in the woods scent they go into stupid aware mode for sure

I hunt in Michigan where I have thousands of acres of public land to hunt. Baiting is nor allowed. The predominant winds are still a bit fickle. I hunt from the ground 100% of the time. With the wind checker I can best hunt the current wind conditions, effective deploy attracting and cover scents, and scout efficiently.
I just tie a 16 inch long piece of white thread on a twig or branch in front of my stand. A 10 inch piece on bow stabilizer can work. When I used a Recurve bow I would tie a piece on top bow tip. You can use 6lb braid fishing line, glue a small maraboo feather to one end and a alligator clip to other...Hang it when you get to stand, the maraboo feather will catch any light wind. Carry extras in your pack, if real windy sometimes the thread gets wrapped around and into the twigs.. using the thread or braid you do not make any extra movements and its always working, just look at it to see wind direction..

Thread is good. I often use dental floss and fray it into small threads. The cattail is used as I'm scouting and deciding where I will hunt that particular time. I rarely hunt the same exact site.
Now see i always thought that you scouted in order to determine where it might be best to hunt.
And the hunt part was just that, hunt for the object of the hunt.
The actual shooting part isnt actually associated with either of the former, but a separate issue unto itself.
But i do have a question.
Would one of those feathers tied on the end of a 338 Lapua barrel work? lol
Better tie that feather closer to the stock. Otherwise that fireball from that 338 will singe that feather.
