Default When you hear the birds squawking

The berries are ripe. Been picking wild blueberries the last few days. Berries were just starting to ripen. Today there was much more bird activity. The berries were ready! First found these patches in my deer woods by doing my pre-season scouting and noticing big flocks of blackbirds exploding from the ground. I couldn't figure out what they were doing or why, until I watched them carefully and discovered they were there for the wild blueberries. Been picking and grinning every year since!

Sometimes it’s hard to beat the birds, they like the berries one day less ripe than I do!

Costal fisherman follow the birds to the bite. The birds will be grabbing the baitfish that are vhased to the surface by the predators

I shoot a lot of boat houses/ Marinas. It the spring those birds roosting in the rafters take bomber runs on the boat decks.

years ago alone in my little boat I watched an event in the winter that was really interesting .
the gulls formed what looked like a tornado over some winter shad , it was quite cool thing to see them in that kind of formation .
there were hundreds and at a distance it was a strange looking white tornado .
I had to go investigate it and it was like WOW when I got there , cormorants all on the water and gulls all diving like bombers and dead shad and scales all over the surface , the graph looked like there were zillions of baits fish and predators under them .
nature at it's best for sure .

My grandson and I heard blue jays squawking and raising Cain a few years ago and hopped on our riding mower to check it out. A Cooper's hawk had caught a dove and was plucking it on the ground and reducing the weight so it could fly to a tree and eat. Pay attention, lots to observe and learn about out there! My wife took the rest of the berries with her to snack on while working our local election today. No squawking from her, but she had a big smile when she left!

sitting on the ground all sneaky snake like indian style years ago, the birds and squirrels went bananas off to my right for a good while , a few minutes later a young bobcat walked right up to me and ACTUALLY stood under my rifle barrel that was set up on a shooting sticks !
I wanted a photo so bad it hurt , even thought, wonder what would happen if i patted it on the back !
Never moved a hair and the south wind was in my face and it watched the feeder i was watching for a second or 3 and off it went never knowing I was there .
