Thank you for taking the time to answer. That is a wealth of information.

it would be nice to own a high end air rifle , but in a caliber that you could readily find projectiles would be most likely the avenue to take , way back when it was suggested I stay with readily available at even some grocery stores and gas stations calibers in my weapons arsenal and sure enough it has paid off by the truckload of few times .
been told that same thing with certain types of "fishing" lines and it still seems to make the best sense as well .
what is commonly available caliber wise ,now more than ever is probably the weapon that is the best fit

If it is not a caliber readily available I get the dies in order to reload for it. If I am taking a rifle onba trip to hunt I certainly want it to be commonly available ammo. Remington yellow and green box stuff that you can find everywhere. As for the pellets I wonder if someone makes a mold so they can be swedged. Corbin made a press and dies to form bullets out of spent rimfire brass and lead wire

while it is possible to cast your own projectiles, it’s not likely to give good results.

it’s not very difficult to stock up on a good quantity of pellets, although perhaps a little more annoying to do so currently. One tin/box is typically 500, unless it’s a .25 or bigger. You could fit 2-3k pellets in a glovebox. That’s, a pretty large “hunt” heh.

That would be pellets for plenty of hunting
