    Default Turkey

this year turkey have been showing up regularly .
sometimes one sometimes 2 , sure makes me happy to see a few on our place .
saw our first one last year after owning the place 2 years .
have had high hopes to get a solid flock in there for our viewing pleasure .
hope this is a good sign , never heard a single gobble yet though
    and only see hens

Seems like they will find their way in behind the hens

Best thing you can do is have an active predator control program. Kill off anything that eats turkeys - especially young and eggs. Coyotes, bobcats, armadillos, skunks, feral cats, etc.

To consistently have birds you’ll need a creek or stream in on or very near your property

here in Texas it is about any water source , they thrive in some spots they only have livestock watering holes .
we have several water bodies surrounding our place , I think it is likely predators keeping them in low numbers and inconsistent

we used to have a few cats , aint seen them in a long time , coyotes range large and are difficult to control
coons and hogs are a big problem at our place , it is likely them doing the major damage
