I mentioned to my bud who was whacking them all weekend to freeze me one or 2 and if he
could just wait on some them to do a fresh shed the hides would be way prettier ....
AND in the end ....
told me some was to big to put in the 1 gallon bags for the freezer he had with him !

you should see the video of when they walked up to the porch and startled it
classic coiled up , 1/3 of the body in the air big S curve ready to GO at it buzzing like an alarm clock .

That right there is what I believe to be an eastern diamond back. We don't see many of them in my neck of the woods. However the timber rattler's are pretty thick here. That one is the best kind by far

Looks delicious to me. what's amazing to me is the many many hundreds of miles I have walked thru the woods and have seen only a handful of snakes and only one poisonous one. course your down in rattlesnake country for sure.

buddy of mine lives on rattlesnake ridge in SEMO and built a home right on top of a big nest and he didn't know it. plus his wife is absolutely terrified of any snakes let alone rattlers. first day they moved in was a bigun right on walkway leading to front door! She hardly ever set foot outside for years, just went out into garage and got into her car.

No problems here in Michigan. One specie of rattler and it has a very small population.
