The stories you can glean from our elders are PRICELESS I tell you. Thursday I bought some used auto parts from a fellow who was selling them for his dad who is 98. Boy was I surprised when the father popped out the door and walked down the road to tell me his age and give me some advice on the engine. I picked his brain and man was he sharp. Found out he is a veteran of WWII and followed Patton through training here in the US and all through Europe. He was pinned down at St. Lo and shared the story with me and what it was like to be rescued by allied paratroopers describing the ground shaking as the planes flew over at 500 ft dropping those heroes. He drives himself, goes out to eat, lives and looks like he is 70. Boy did I digress......

Great job on your perseverance my friend.

i imagine if i had time i could have listened to a lot more stories
he sure had bunches to tell , seems he was a match shooter back in the day

we did talk about it and like he said they run off like they aint hurt all the time and out there somewhere in the brush lays a big dead pig
told me about one he clocked than ran for a good while out of sight that he eventually found and we chatted about other pigs as well .
he told me dont tell anyone as he was gunna give himself up on something .....and i got all ears ....
"he said i know it aint right but i sure LOVE to hear a hog squeal " !
