    Default The Final resting place

So i found that 10 point head a bit ago and the game warden gave me the man's information . i finally talked to him yesterday and by golly he was sitting on his bench outside by his driveway just a waiting for me to get there with his buck's head .
Sure did have a big smile and was very thankful , seems he is an avid hunter and still is at 75 years old now and wanted to make a bleached skull out of it . hunts about 2 miles form there and had 45 minutes worth of cool stories to tell me.
said you dont see many folks in this day and age willing to do what is right and find the owner on a nice rack. told me his house was full of shoulder mounts and he finished the deer the day he got it and left the head laying in the grass by his front door .
Said come morning it was gone ! told me he has to kill coyotes in his yard often . I told him to hang it by the wire that was on it or something like a coyote or squirrel will ruin it next go round .
The game warden was happy as well when i told him and said it sure was nice to see a happy ending .
sure made me feel right nice to return it ....win win

WTG Outlaw as why would you want the head of someone else's trophy and memory? It's like when someone jacks a big buck or poaches one, where is the memory of a great hunt or experience when your sneaking around in your vehicle?

besides you had the joy of seeing the older hunters face when he saw not only his head but a good man show up and he was able to share some great hunting stories with you.

Really proud of you. That right there shows just how good of a sportsman you are. Does he fish? Maybe surprise him with some crappie to eat.

Good on you, KETCHN. The right thing is not always the easiest thing to do, but it definitely shows the quality of your character.

I lost a nice head to coyotes several years ago. It wasn't the biggest buck, but I sure wish I had it on the wall.
