Something cheap, but I feel naked without it around my neck even when I know I won’t use it when it’s not the right time of year. GRUNT TUBE!!!

Agree with KETCHN about optics. But if it were me I would find ammunition if you can find it.

the reason i use a regular an old not fancy 30 06 is because you can find them in a gas station or maybe even a grocery store out in the country quite often .
my daddy taught me that WAY long ago about fancy odd calibers and such .
sure some are bad boys , but when it gets tough ....run a the mill ammo is the way to go .
    i run simple calibers on all my weapons ...223 ...22 ....12 guage ...30 06 ...9 mm ....
he used to say all the time ....son without ammo its just a pc. a pipe
used to laugh about some of what he said i did ....
and just look at the way it rolls now

Here in the Buckeye State I always carry one handwarmer, a quality headlamp, a walkie talkie, good gloves and a bottle of water too. 2nd edit...lol and a quality sharp knife.

Just ordered some 380, 9mm and 5.56 this past week. I keep lots of 20 ga. and 17 HMR as well.

What determines a good pair of binoculars. The price range is crazy big.

Good binoculars are a must have. Don't look at stuff through your scope. Only use the scope for killing.

I have some Nikons that are good. I have some much cheaper Redfield Rebel binos and they seem to be as good as the Nikons that cost 3-4 times more. I much prefer roof prism over porro prism binos.
