    Default sometimes things get complicated

There are several really decent bucks running around at our place this year .
i think i can put about 10 of them as legal for my county at more than13 inches wide .
now mind you i really dont horn hunt , but appreciate a good rack just the same .
my bud and i were chatting and he said something that i have already thought about .
his place is north of me about 100 miles and he has alot of bucks on it as well .
its going to be tough to pass one good one to wait on another good one .
and during the rut they will likely not be together .
i kind of have my eyes on this 10 point
and in a few cases i think he has his eyes on me

was lucky enough that Goliath committed suicide for me and insisted I kill him despite my inattention for several minutes couple years back. now more interested in getting those good young does and ugly bucks to take out and let my son's crew have for meat. besides that's usually when the crappie are biting well so spend more time doing that as my guys love them a crappie dinner.

horns are good and especially when you have so many running around your property. hopefully you get the one you want before your neighbors do.

I wish I had your problem with complicated hunting, as in choosing bucks lol. Around here, we try to let them grow, but the neighbors have other things in mind... A couple years ago we had a 2.5 yr old that was a nice 9pt, but dang he was tiny, short nose, neck you could reach around with 2 hands, maybe 130 lbs. Me and my buddy let him walk 2-3 times each. He walked across the land line and boom, down he went. He would have been a show dog, just the next year. I know everyone has different agendas when hunting, but if you are just wanting meat, shoot a doe. Those same 2 guys we heard killed 9 bucks that year. I just see why anyone would do that.

they are pretty good looking free range deer for sure in this part of the world , we don't feed protein and they roam as they will .

Beauty of a buck. Good luck. Through the years I have shot 1_9 points. If I shot a 10 my cycle would be done and I'd have to guit!
