    Default Hi-pointe carbine question

I have an older hi-pointe pistol, in 45. Would the magazines be interchangeable, with a new carbine?

a carbine is typically a reference to a rifle if i am not mistaken ?
that would lead me to this answer , i don't think a rifle magazine will fit in a pistol , but i could be wrong ?

If I'm not mistaken, carbine is rifle that fires a pistol round. However, the hi-point pistols and carbines have some interchangeable magazines.
I wound up talking to local dealer last night. The 9 round magazines are interchangeable. I was wondering if my older pistol would be compatible, supposedly it is. The higher capacity magazines are not. Although I looked it up later, there are some people who modified them to work. Success was mixed.

that's interesting I for sure had no idea you could interchange a rifle magazine with a pistol magazine .
as far as carbine goes I thought it meant just rifle ,but in the end I have no clue anyway
we used to have an old ww2 carbine army issue 30 cal I think it was back when and that's the only time I ever heard the word carbine .

You are more than welcome! Sorry I didn't reply sooner, or with more information. Between my full and part time job, this week has been interesting.
