I have a Savage 93 in 17cal and I use Hoppe's 9 cleaning rod and solvent. None of the sporting goods stores had them on stock. Had to order mine online.

I run a bore snake and use Hoppe's 9 as well. I always add a light coat of Rem oil to the barrel and exterior.

I use CCI ammunition. I used 17gr with a palamer tip for squirrels but they tore the squirrels up to much so I went to 20gr fmj and they are perfect for squirrel. The 17gr is perfect for groundhogs.
