    Default I KABOOM

We went off Saturday evening to hunt my little place . We saw 1 small 8 point and 8 does late in the day right at dark . My bud had a cold and said in the morning go ahead I will sleep in . At very first light I saw one lone deer sneaking along and never identified what it was other than pretty large .
At around 7 am a real small 8 point came out right beside me and stood in my road eating acorns . He wasn't legal and I just watched him for a while . He wandered off and I watched other areas as it seemed he was all alone .
Well I could still see him off in the distance and when I looked back at him later another buck is approaching him in a I will bully you good stance and it was clear he was legal and long tined .
So after the little said no I don't think so and eased off some he followed him . I said I do think you being a bully has ended your career my friend .
    Then I KABOOM
He went down so fast I lost sight of him and the other buck trotted away and then stopped and eased back and looked a little confused down in the tall grass. As he trotted away I saw why the larger buck was so testy as there was 2 does that the larger buck was with .
So after a good while of owning this place I FINALLY did the deed . He isn't a very old deer and he is a 7 point ,but boy howdy does he have some long times . He was in very good shape body wise and should eat quite well .
I couldn't find him out in the sea of tall grass for a good bit and in my wanderings in the open area I came up on a dandy shed and within 10 feet of it a torn up mesquite . Whoever that shed belongs to remains unseen on camera or by us but to be sure he is a big old boy .
Sunset Saturday evening was splendid and I got a skinned iced down buck in my ice chest to keep me busy a day or 2 .
Was a nice hunt and the weather was real mild and to be sure I feel blessed to harvest a deer on my own place for the first time .
hope you enjoy the read/photos and have a great day .

I feel I almost shot that deer! Good story and great deer picture. Impressive rack! Keep up the good stories and yes you can Kaboom once in a while it's okay! Also, a good find on the shed! Maybe he will appear one day if he is not decease or moved away completely.
